Google Cloud Demonstrator

Understanding Google Cloud – Created by ITQ

To explain the principle behind the latest Google Cloud solution Manufacturing Data Engine and Connect To illustrate this to a wide audience, junior engineers from ITQ GmbH, in collaboration with SOTEC one Google Cloud Demonstrator built. The demonstrator consists of a miniature factory for the customised manufacture of chips, which demonstrates how processes and the Productivity using the AI-based solution can be optimised.

The demonstrator illustrates in a fun way how manufacturing engineers can use Google’s cloud technologies to manage all the data from a Smart Factory and process it efficiently. The engineers built the demonstrator based on the Learning Factory 4.0 by fischertechnik and a Sawyer Cobot by Rethink Robotics. Users will learn how analytics and insights, visual inspection, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and traceability work in smart manufacturing.

Highlights

FAQ

The demonstrator visualises a miniature factory for customised chip manufacturing and shows how AI-based cloud solutions can optimise processes, productivity and data processing in a smart factory.

The demonstrator is based on fischertechnik’s Lernfabrik 4.0, a Sawyer cobot from Rethink Robotics, and Google Cloud analytics and AI tools such as Predictive Maintenance, Visual Inspection and Anomaly Detection.

Production engineers receive real-time data from the smart factory, enabling them to monitor processes efficiently, detect anomalies at an early stage and boost productivity through data-driven decisions.

Through a playful and hands-on experience, key functions such as traceability, process monitoring and AI-supported optimisation are clearly demonstrated – ideal for training sessions or demonstrations.

Yes, the demonstrator serves as a clear-cut model. The principles, data integration and AI-supported analyses can be scaled up to real-world manufacturing processes.
