Innovative high-tech demonstrators

ITQ aims to make engineering and technical degree programmes more appealing to young people. That is why, for more than ten years, we have been running „Fun Learning Projects“ in collaboration with universities and their students. The aim is to teach cutting-edge technology in a playful way and to offer young people a completely new approach to technical subjects. By using our „high-tech toys“ in teacher training seminars, we inspire the next generation and make degree programmes more varied and interesting.

Drawing on the wide-ranging experience of our student teams, we have been working alongside the VDMA for several years on various stages of development of the smart4i demonstrator, which serves to illustrate the technical possibilities of digitalisation and Industry 4.0. To date, over 100 motivated students from a wide range of disciplines and countries have taken part in this series of projects and presented their work to a large number of leading representatives from industry and research.

The approaches currently in use for developing complex mechatronic systems are often reaching their limits. To maintain the international competitiveness of German companies, it is important to provide new, pioneering impetus in the research sector.
