AUTODIS – Sustainable Circular Economy

Automated dismantling processes and component-by-component processing of returned products

As part of the research project AUTODIS (Carmated dis(assembly) ITQ GmbH is driving forward the development of an automated and intelligently networked dismantling process for circular smart meter products, in line with the principles of the circular economy. Using smart water meters as an example, engineers and scientists at ITQ GmbH are working on, TUM fml – future.meets.logistics as well as Lorenz in the research project AUTODIS with potential for automation in the dismantling processes and the component-by-component reprocessing of returned smart meters. The reuse, maintenance and reprocessing of products are important for the manufacturing industry in order to use resources more efficiently and contribute to an environmentally conscious circular economy.

FAQ

AUTODIS is a research project focusing on the automated dismantling and recycling of products, with the aim of closing material loops and using resources more efficiently.

The project is investigating how returned products can be dismantled automatically and how individual components can be prepared for reuse or recycling.

Automated dismantling processes enable products to be recycled cost-effectively and make an important contribution to a sustainable circular economy.

ITQ develops intelligent and connected solutions for automated dismantling processes, as well as the integration of modern automation and digitalisation technologies.
